Camera Buying Guideline for Photography Beginners

Choosing the best DSLR camera for photography beginners is quite difficult because it depends on too many factors. The camera lens, aperture, camera focus, image sensor, flash, screen, user control, body, battery, viewfinder etc. are main focusing part for buying a DSLR camera. Though there are huge facts act on why you should buy a camera and what’s your budget will be for this camera. However, today we gonna discuss beginners DSLR camera buying guideline actually. Here a question remains, what do I mean by a beginners DSLR camera. A beginners DSLR camera can replace with beginners DSLR camera for photography, beginners DSLR camera for videography, beginners DSLR camera for cinematography etc. Actually, today's discussion is all about beginner’s DSLR for photography.

Choosing Brand

For buying a camera first of all one question is common that ‘which brands camera he/she should buy?’. There is no perfect answer to this question actually because every brand has some uniqueness otherwise, they wouldn’t still be in the marketplace. So, you should consider all models which are perfect for your budget and focus on cameras specification and features. When you choose a brand you also choose camera lenses and other accessories of this brand at the same time. So, choosing a camera brand obviously very important.

Full frame Vs APS-C Sensor

For buying a Digital single-lens reflect camera (DSLR) first of all you should focus on cameras sensors. The camera sensor is the heart of the camera. Basically, cameras sensors are a more important factor than cameras megapixel. There are few sensor cameras available in the DSLR market, but full-frame and APS C Sensors are focusing sensors. Let’s discuss which is better full frame or APS C?

Image sensor format of a full-frame DSLR camera is 35 mm (36 mm × 24 mm). On the other hand, APS C is about 25.1×16.7. But it varies in different brand a little bit. So, basically, the full-frame camera's sensor is bigger than an APS-C sensor camera. Due to a bigger sensor in full-frame camera image quality is better than APS-C sensor camera. Image detail is much better in full-frame and you also get less noise in full-frame camera photos. full-frame cameras are quite expensive for this reason. And generally, APS C sensors cameras are cheaper than full frame. You can’t use full-frame lenses on APS C Sensors body. But if you use APS C lenses in full-frame sensor it won’t work perfectly or you will face many problems like focusing, less noise, clicking problem, less clarity etc. For landscape and nature photography full-frame cameras are far better than the APS C sensors cameras. As a photographer, you should buy a full-frame camera obviously for begging your perfect and amazing photography journey

Quality of Images and Megapixel

It’s another important part that you should know before buying am camera obviously. Here Image quality of A DSLR camera can refer to the perfect level of capturing a photo. For perfectly capturing a photo many factors work like focusing, iso, Sutter speed etc. We will discuss them later. On the other hand, megapixels refer to the size or resolution of photos. Megapixels stands for millions of pixels or a combination of million pixels. There is a rule in photography or camera, the higher the megapixel number, the better the image quality or resolution. So megapixel is the image resolution factor. For making a big photo frame you should use a big megapixel camera. But it is not necessary to have a big megapixel camera for better quality images. Remember megapixels is image resolution factor, not image quality. However, for the better image, you should also focus on megapixels combination with the camera sensor. Nowadays many smartphones provide higher megapixel cameras though the image quality of those cameras are quite less attractive than a lower megapixel DSLR camera. Because the combination of sensors and megapixels aren’t perfect there.

Autofocus

For buying a better camera you should also focus on the camera focus system. Manual focus and autofocus are types of camera focusing. Autofocus is very important for portrait photography as well as videography. Specially vloggers need acquired autofocus cameras. For better and sharp autofocus you should consider the number of autofocus point. The Higher the number of autofocus point, the more accuracy of the autofocus system of the camera can function quickly. With a higher number of autofocus points camera, you can detect any phase very easily and quickly, and the image clarity also will be fine as the points will be covering a larger area of the scenery. It’s one kind of mandatory function to have a higher number of autofocus point for bird and wildlife photography.

Image Stabilization

Image stabilization is very important for both photography and videography. Its commonly known as IS. It's one kind of technique of keeping your camera stable while capturing any scene or while shooting video. Optical image stabilization (OIS) and Electronic image stabilization (E.I.S) are the most used IS system. But OIS is better than EIS. You should choose the OIS supported camera for better performance. Without image stabilization, you can’t take perfect bird photo with zoom lenses, because after zooming any scene its will be very sensitive compare to normal mood. While shooting any video by walking or running without image stabilization the outcome will very shaky. So as a photography beginner I suggest you choose OIS supported cameras for better performance.

Viewfinder

Obviously, the viewfinder is important on camera. With viewfinder, you can frame your photo perfectly. The viewfinder is also very useful for accurately compose a picture. There are different kinds of viewfinder like optical viewfinder (OVF), electronic viewfinder (EVF), some cameras have an LCD screen with live view and some cameras have both OVF and EVF. However electronic viewfinder is quite better than an optical viewfinder. A camera with EVF can make your photography easier. Also, EVF offers more feature than an optical viewfinder. Though EVF cameras effects on cameras battery life little bit I will suggest you buy this for better photography.
